Dear
Friends,
Our
Beef & Beer event on April 10th was a great
success thanks to Hollie Mullin and Kim
Owens. Mike Beck put on a great show and we
can honestly tell you that Harrigan's Pub knows
how to throw a great party!
114
friends shared an evening of music, fun and prizes
and raised almost $1,400 dollars. We were
able to unveil our new movie about
our Delaware Valley College outreach
trip to South Carolina last month, which we will
share with you in this newsletter. While we
were celebrating, "Kentucky Deb" was loading
up shelter dogs in Appalachia to meet volunteer
transport drivers who took the animals
to many different rescues all the way to
Connecticut. The foodbank was able to send
supplies to many needy shelters on the return
trip.
On the local front, we are participating in
a feral cat spay & neuter initiative with
Doylestown Animal Medical Clinic and Mobi
Vet. We are collecting cat
carriers and Have-a-Heart traps in preparation for
the effort; please drop off these
needed supplies during store hours. If you
need assistance with feral cats, please call to
add your contact information to the spay &
neuter initiative
list.
Yours in Rescue,
Denise Bash

More About the Delaware
Valley College Animal Lifeline
Club
The members of the Delaware Valley College
Animal Lifeline Club volunteer their
time with local humane organizations and
use the skills they have learned when they travel
to places in need of their help.
Through the program, they are in contact with
people from different backgrounds and
circumstances. The students of today will
have this broad life experience to draw upon
as they become the veterinarians, animal
control officers, zoologists, teachers &
animal advocates of tomorrow.
In order to understand what the students are
able to accomplish during their outreach
excursions, please take a
look at the video taken during the
students' trip to Marion County,
SC. We are proud of the effort and
enthusiasm they put forth on every trip!
If you attend A-Day at Delaware Valley
College the April 25th & 26th,
please stop by to say hello to the Animal
Lifeline Club members and visit with the adoptable
animals they will have at their
booth! | |
