The Second Chance for Love National Adoption Weekend takes place in
all PetSmart stores Friday-Sunday, April 30 - May 2, 2010. The goal
is to find homes for more
than 18,500 pets in need.
Animal Lifeline will be participating in the event at the local
PetSmart at 934 W. Street Road in Warminster on Friday, April 30th
from 4-8PM. We will be taking Animal Lifeline's feline friends,
Leon, Bonnie, and a new litter of kittens to the event, as well as
Lucy the Plott Hound mix, to meet with prospective adopters.
As a PetSmart rescuing partner, Animal Lifeline will receive a
donation for each of our animals that is adopted at a Petsmart
store. In addition, Animal Lifeline is included in a pool that
quarterly divides all of the donations that customers make when
checking out at PetSmart.
We are thankful for this partnering opportunity with PetSmart and are
hoping for happy home placements for our animals this Friday!

News
from the Delaware Valley College Animal Lifeline Club!
Animal
Lifeline Club members took time out of their busy end-of-the-semester
schedules to participate in A-Day this past weekend! Organized by the
club's Vice President, Emily Nestor, and future Vice President, Liz
Borrie, tent visitors could make their own rope toys, purchase dog
treats from the Doggie Deli in Doylestown, guess Sookie's breed, meet
the very adoptable Lucy, and gather information about Animal Lifeline
and the Animal Lifeline Club. Friday and Saturday showed record
attendance and there was a nice turnout Sunday, despite the light
drizzle all day!
Congratulations to Pat Cocchiarella, Michelle Boccuzzo, Jenny
McCarty, Darlene Cirillo, Bruce Glider and Lisa Mayer, the winners of
the Guess-That-Breed Fundraiser! They each received a $20
gift certificate to TGI Fridays. And the answer to the burning
question?...Sookie is a Husky/Akita mix! Special thanks to TGI
Fridays for the gift certificate donation that made this fundraiser
possible!

CALLING
ALL STORE VOLUNTEERS!!!
Denise
& Laurie are headed out on a three-county shelter rehab trip with
our outreach volunteers from May 21-27.
This important trip will help other shelters from less economically
fortunate areas update their facilities and take better care of their
animals. We are bringing a veterinarian and a trainer to help with
education, and several volunteers from the Delaware Valley College
Animal Lifeline Club and the Thrift Shop will do all of the
labor.
We
will need all hands on deck while folks are away on this
trip! If you are a Thrift Shop volunteer, it would be great if
you could help out at the store that week so we can keep the doors
open!
Please
call 215-343-5050 and ask for Laurie or Denise to get shift
information. If everyone could pitch in a few volunteer hours, it
would be a tremendous help!
THANK YOU!
(No
new volunteers that week, please!)

NECESSITIES!
We're getting ready
for an outreach
trip to West Virginia and can really use the following:
- bleach
- work gloves
- paper towels
- durable rubber dog toys that
can be sanitized
- collars & leashes
- metal feeding bowls
We also have a
WISHLIST
posted on Amazon.com.
These items don't have to be purchased at Amazon,
and you may be able to find better prices elsewhere, but we wanted to
put the suggestions out there so folks have an idea of what we need at
Animal Lifeline on a regular basis!
Different brands of similar products are always welcome, though you
should check with Denise before purchasing vaccines
other than those listed.
As always, thank you
for continuing to provide much-needed supplies!

Beagle Bart!
Bart
is a kind and gentle 5 year old beagle. He is excellent with kids and
other dogs, and ignores kitties. He rides well in the car, is
housebroken, crate-trained, and is just an easy dog to have
around. Bart would be perfect for someone who is looking to give
a home to a laid back, non-demanding dog.
Bart really needs and deserves a special family to take him home...he's
been through some sad times and is still nothing but sweet. If
you are interested in learning more about Bart, please check out his Petfinder page!
